After years running Wordpress for Nephandus it's time to move on. The costs associated with running a full-fledged content management system so that I can forget to write blog posts for the better part of a decade are just not sustainable and, with the rise of agentic AI, other options are now open to me.
A few weeks ago I used Claude to scrape the entire contents of the old Wordpress Nephandus site into a series of flat HTML files. I drew up some Terraform, handed that over to some GitHub actions, and now the entire site is hosted out of an S3 bucket for pennies on the dollar.
It's worth noting that, since I last posted here, most of my professional content has been migrated over to cleaner.codes. To the extent that I continue to update Nephandus it will likely for hobbiest content and side projects. I've got a few of those in the hopper which are probably worth dropping here. Like I said, it's been a minute.
